Delinquent After: Payments are due by the "delinquent after" date indicated on your statement. Payment may be made in person at 211 S. Main, Galva, KS during regular hours or maybe left in the 24 hour depository. Payments can be returned by mail, using the return envelope enclosed with the statement. You may also pay your bill online at www.hci-ks.com or sign-up for our convenient automatic deduction from your bank account or credit card. Home Communications accepts Mastercard, Visa, and Discover.
If payment is not received by the delinquent date, your bill will become past due and will be charged a late fee of 3% of your total balance due. Payments returned to Home Communications due to insufficient funds will incur a non sufficient funds fee (NSF) of up to $30.00 or the maximum fee allowed by state law.
Access Line: This is a line from the consumer's telephone to the local exchange company switch.
Universal Service Fee: A fee used to promote and assure the availability of universal service at rates that are reasonable and affordable between rural and urban areas. Public Service Commissions established rules and procedures for the USF.
911 Service Fee: A fee that helps pay for emergency services such as fire and rescue.
Federal Subscriber Line Charge: This charge was instituted in 1984 to cover the costs of a portions of the local phone network.
Federal Excise Tax: This is a 3% tax mandated by the Federal government. It is assessed on taxable services provided by HCI's non-regulated entities, such as Long Distance service.
Taxes: Mandated Federal, state, and local taxes.
State and Local Taxes: Taxes imposed by state and local governments, assessed on taxable services included in your bill.
